Stripping polyester powder, epoxy-polyester powder and many wet paints from jigs and steel components can be carried out with similar techniques to that shown for aluminium components. In this case BJ-STRIP is the preferred material and has the following benefits:
  • Speed: BJ-STRIP is much more strongly alkaline than WR-STRIP
  • Suitable for use with multiple coatings
  • Does not cause heat distortion
  • Does not detemper spring loaded jig tips
  • Does not alter dimensions of threaded components
  • Can be completely drained from difficult profiles, unlike fluidised beds which can retain sand and ovens which can retain ash
BJ STRIP can be used to remove difficult coatings from aluminium, but only under very controlled conditions which do not allow water contamination of the bath.
