At Cambrian Solvents Limited, there are times when we have to manufacture multiple chemical mixes in a short period. This process calls for thorough cleaning of all apparatus to ensure there is no chemical residue from previous mixes. To pass quality-control tests and to avoid failure of the chemical at the customers’ site. This also requires adequate packaging and correct labeling.

Employee filling containers
We package liquid products in 25 litres, 200 litres and 1000 litre drums. There are some instances, however, where customers require bespoke packaging. In this case, our team will liaise with the customer to ensure they get precisely what they want. Sometimes this requires a toll blending agreement.
In the photo, the team has blended a rush order for a customer who required special packing conditions. We carry out toll blending. Which requires a mix made from the customers’ formulation, but the packaging requirements are complex. We hold the raw materials in stock, so once we find a window in the production planning process, we can start to make it.
Happily, this time we were able to do a same-day turnaround. Our team dropped out the raw materials mixed in the tank farm directly from the tank into the 10-litre containers. The member of staff pictured is distributing finished product – using a gravity feed from the tank through a convoluted PTFE hose. The hose rests in a tool arrester and is then used to fill the bottles to the required weight.
We were able to manufacture, QC test, package, label, strap, wrap and dispatch the product on the same day.
